Set during the Zhenguan era of the Tang Dynasty, Road to Empress I follows the early years of Yuanzhao (portrayed by Evie Huang). Unlike the legends of a peaceful court, this FMV shows the brutal reality: a single wrong word to Consort Wei or a slight breach of etiquette can lead to a multitude of cruel and unusual deaths. (even the soup can be dangerous lol)

This was incredibly fun and charming to play. It's basically a historical cdrama but playable which made it soo entertaining to go through, it's hilarious to keep on dropping dead every two seconds by the most random things ever!
I thought i was a pro at avoiding red flags but it seems i'm not
there are three protags the "innocent" guy who doesnt know anything about politics and just draws, the crown prince, and the hard achieving "cold" guy.
at first i wasnt interested in anybody, as usual so i was thinking of saying no to all of them except with the way that life works, and how the game insinuated the consequences of such behaviour.. I decided to play with all of them and see how it goes
didn't really like the crown prince from the start, but the pure guy just got on my nerves yes he is mildly cute but it's not impressive and later on you come to realize he kinda sucks depending on your pov
whereas the cold guy is the coolest guy ever i wish that was me he is kinda evil but i'd rather someone who is honest with me than a guy who is double faced (he's not secretly evil (i think??) just... not as honest as the cold guy)
after dying an infinite amount of times, befriending people, killing people, getting killed by people, the game ended on such a cliffhanger my god that is insane i hope they come out with the 2nd part ASAP even if i heard someone important in the cast did tax evasion and this is a serious issue in china since anybody who does this gets cut out from shows but the thing is her role is vital so idk what they're going to do
honestly. couldnt she have waited until the game was out lol. this sucks, but oh well. I really wish i can find something to watch that's similar to this game but so far i might replay it bc why not
