The osts were absolutely great, had them on repeat ever since i finished the show, can't believe they got a song for each character that's impressive.. even better the yearning in lan wangji's one, and in-comparison the way wei wuxian's own is so fun and careless.
And let's not talk about how emotional wuji sounds like, because hearing it makes me want to cry.
It was a great ride, wasn't expecting nie huisang to be what he was, or how everybody kept on dying, or how after reflicting i've actually grown to like jiang cheng (hated him while watching it).
I don't even know how I stumbled upon it, other than watching it in 2020 and rewatching last year and realizing "this is one of the best companionship stories to ever exist".
Nobody did love so poignantly the way they did, and how ill-fated it was at the start.
The way lwj pushed wwx away when he was trying to get close to him, but the moment he started to truly appreciate him and respect his morals.
It was when wwx was (kind of) stripped off his own, blinded by the anger, growing cold and uncaring, he does care but.. not as freely as before and therefore correctly believing that his unblemished rule-abiding classmate who would always tell him to get lost, who is so perfect, would never be actually interested in him if not but to punish him.
And so, he dropped dead thinking nobody wants him around, coming back to life was more of a hassle it seems but he didn't mind it that much, think the evil energy got to him when he was alive and messed up his moods and. emotions
So, imagine finding out that no, the supposedly conservative classmate who should've hated your gut missed you every single day of his life after you left. God.
It's not even limerence, he genuinely loves him, and loves his soul since he doesn't look as good as before, not as strong as before, and is definitely has grown up since their younger days.
After all what is grief if not the persistence of love?
